Bomber Raid (Sega Master System)
I’ve always been an opinionated sort. I spent most of my time in High School with debate and English. I’ve always been someone that wanted to be ‘first.’ I was would make sure to be the first person to see a new film, or play through a new game, and as a result people were always asking for my opinion on whatever was the newest out there. I wasn’t really sure how to harness that into a career earlier in life, but later on I found a knack in writing and throwing my opinions online, and thus a career in Video Game Journalism was born!
I’ve been a life-long gamer since my first console, the Sega Master System, which I actually got from a friend (in trade) for a clock/radio/telephone that I had kicking around. My Dad and I would spend hours, days, playing Bomber Raid, going back and forth trying to beat one another’s scores and that’s what got me hooked. I’d later spend all my time and effort working extra chores, then part-time jobs later on so that I could earn enough money on my own to make sure I always had the latest consoles and video games (though back in those days it was more rentals that purchases). The love of video games never died, and was just built upon when I got into writing. I consider myself to be a lover of the industry and of English, though am the first to admit I’m far from perfect and am always willing to receive constructive criticism.
During my time in the industry I’ve worked as a writer, an editor, a podcaster, a producer, a game tester and a film editor. I hope that I’ll never stop learning new mediums to be able to contribute to this industry in every way I can.
