WHAT MADE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A WRITER?:

As a kid I used to read a lot of now defunct gaming magazines like E.G.M., GamePro and the Official PlayStation Magazine (the o.g. one).  I guess reading magazines like those with well written articles by journalists like Joe Rybicki, Kraig Kujawa, and Mark MacDonald really got a spark going in me to make my voice be heard.  Generally speaking I know that the world is filled with thousands of would-be video game industry writers but I try to add a little something extra to the stuff I write instead of following by the numbers PR shilling that usually is completely clueless on the subject at hand.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY:

A Chicago native, Ian Fisher is one of the co-founders of Shogun Gamer and is currently its resident News/Interviews guru. Focused on work at all times, Ian tries his best to inform readers of the latest happenings in the video game industry while not being afraid to call out something if it’s incredibly dumb or asinine, even if it means a few PR bridges may be burned.

While PlayStation blood may run through Ian’s veins as a gamer, he isn’t a complete mindless sheep as he also enjoys gaming on the Xbox 360 every now and then or even going old-school by popping open the Dreamcast. In his free time Ian enjoys watching silly TV shows like True Blood or watching Speed Racer on Blu-ray for the 20th time while eating deliciously fatty foods.
