Xbox Live Avatar's Will Soon Be Going Weaponless

If you’re one of the few Xbox 360 gamers out there that simply loves having an Avatar and buying items for it then I have some bad news. As of January 1st all existing Avatar titles that come in the forms of guns will be taken off of Xbox Live and no items of such a nature will be released on the store hence forth. So yeah, no more guns for your Avatar.

Robocop Finally Arrives On The Xbox 360 In An Unlikely Way

I’ve never really jumped on the bandwagon of purchasing items for my Xbox 360 Avatar since the concept as a whole really doesn’t appeal to me.  In a way it’s nice to be able to buy a new t-shirt or an accessory to inject some personality into a virtual representation of yourself, but at the end of the day it just feels like wasted money since how many pairs of virtual pants does someone honestly need?  And before anyone says I’m just going into PlayStation fanboy mode once again I will be honest and say that my sentiments towards Avatars also extend to PlayStation Home as well.&nb

Big Smile Reviews - Diifii's wild ride though Avatar the game.

There's never a shortage of Avatar buzz, so it was only a matter of time before Diifii got his hands on this game. Based on the highly successful cinema epic and it's unique blend of classic film and 3D graphics, Avatar the game has a lot to live up to. Find out what Diifii thinks about it!

Korea shows Avatar film in 4D. Now with motion, rain and smells!

Has the novelty of 3D movie wore off for you already? Well, Korea has the answer with the introduction of a 4D version of the money printing press that is Avatar.

A $15.80 ticket gets you into a show you'll not soon forget. During the almost 3 hour movie you'll be treated to 30 some effects ranging from sprinkling water, moving seats, smell of explosives, laser lights to dropping oxygen masks shortly prior to poisonous Pandora-like air pumped into the theatre due to an airlock breach on screen. ..I may have made up that last thing.

[Movie Review] Avatar

Overall Feeling:

Avatar won’t amaze you with an amazing story or characters but it will blow your mind when it comes to the visuals and how rich and engaging the world James Cameron created is. There hasn’t been a film like this that has created something that is so detailed and fully realized that it will just suck people up into the experience of Jake Sully and the battle happening on the planet of Pandora. And as far as being a James Cameron film it is easily in his top three as he’s on the top of his game and presents some amazing action scenes and once again sets the bar for special effects.

The Pros:

Jaw dropping special effects, intense and original action and the design for Pandora and its creatures is some of the most original stuff that’s been created in awhile. The technology used to capture the performance of the actors is amazing and shines through Zoe Saldana’s amazing performance as Neytiri. Though a bit cliché the story still has moments where it shines and has a few classic James Cameron trademarks.

The Cons:

The story isn’t anything we haven’t seen before and that may turn some people off. Most of the characters never really grow after they’re established and that’s a missed opportunity especially when it comes to characters like Parker Selfridge.

I don’t think there has been a movie that has had the same amount of anticipation as Avatar.

[Review] James Cameron's Avatar: The Game

Overall Feeling:

Despite the early hype James Cameron's Avatar: The Game isn't the game to break the curse of bad movie games. Instead the game is probably one of the most disappointing movie games I've played as it's lacking that epic scope that the film promises and when it comes to being a game it's extremely boring due to repetitive missions and a subpar story.

The Pros:

The game is playable in the sense that it won't crash on you. Exploring Pandora may be a nice experience for some even though it isn't as detailed or big as the film. The design of the main menu and accompanying music is very nice. Some of the visuals can look quite nice but sadly that isn't the case with the majority of the game.

The Cons:

Inconsistent graphics, boring missions, iffy controls, a story that fails to be captivating, unoriginal mission design and an uneven multiplayer mode. Basically Avatar: The Game fails in every aspect that makes a game fun.

For some reason or another there are things that are just meant not to be in the world. Things like world peace, the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series and video game fanboys not arguing with each other are just a few things that probably will never happen, and if they do then I think we should all be scared.  Something else that is a long shot from ever happening is gamers getting a good game based on a film.  For a long time the movie game genre has been a complete joke as the games are simply shells of what they could be and are obvious cash-ins.

QuarterSave: Slightly Less Good EP17

We’re getting into a slightly more regular swing of things now which is good… right before the holidays which is horrible timing if you think of things. This week’s episode is short a member as Good Casey was unable to join in with the merriment but Evil and Neutral carry on with Good in spirit. The show this week spends time discussing how surprisingly good 1 vs 100 on Xbox Live is, as well as a bit of a debate on which sides we’ll be taking in the impending Human/8-foot-blue-thing war when Avatar: The Game launches.
