Batman: Arkham Asylum/Arkham City Casting Call

Last year saw the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy finally come to a definitive end with the release of The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan’s last entry in the Batman franchise left the fanbase rather split since certain elements either seemed bloated, unnecessary, or entirely forced for the sake of it.  However flawed Nolan’s final Batman movie was, the one thing that was clear was that it wasn’t the true end of the Batman franchise.

Rumors Surface For Batman: Arkham Origins (Grain of Salt Time)

Holy contradictory news Batman!  Some interesting details have arisen concerning the future of the Batman: Arkham video game franchise that could be legit or simply a case of wires being crossed.

New Batman Arkham Game Scheduled For 2013, Potential Developer Swtich Inbound [Rumor]

This may be a case of shocking and not so shocking news, but the Batman Arkham series is poised for a return once again.  After the release of Batman: Arkham City in 2011, gamers eagerly anticipated the continuation of the series, even given the shocking ending, and now they’ll receive their wish but there could be a catch to it.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Receives Another Character Addition

This week marks the arrival of the New York Comic Con and of course such a thing entails several video game announcements being made.  Far from being a huge game centric show, the New York con has brought some goodness over the last few years and that will definitely ring true thanks to the comic based brawler that is Injustice: Gods Among Us.

WB Interactive Reveals Injustice: Gods Among Us Collector's Edition For NA and EU

The financial willingness of gamers will once again be tested thanks to WB Interactive and Injustice: Gods Among Us.  There’s already a huge amount of interest in the DC based brawler created by the team at NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat), but in the world of corporations that isn’t enough to guarantee a home-run as everything needs a Collector’s Edition SKU these days.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Receives A Release Date + New Combat Heavy Trailer

As nice as it would’ve been to see Injustice: Gods Among Us be released this year, the game was always pegged for a 2013 release.  When WB Games and NetherRealm Studios announced the game in early June it seemed as if it would’ve been a key candidate for a Holiday 2012 release, but unlike other corporate minded studios WB knows better than to rush a game to retail far ahead of when it’s completed.

Yet Another Batman Character Joins The Cast Of Injustice: Gods Amongst Us

Gamescom hasn’t officially kicked off, at least in the sense that people started dropping megatons on us, but NetherRealm Interactive has revealed a new character for Injustice: Gods Amongst Us.  No, we still don’t have Bane, manly Aquaman, Zatanna and her magical chest, or Supergirl as Catwoman has officially been added to the roster. I know, isn’t it such a shocker that Catwoman is in a DC based brawler?

Six Months Later: Gotham City Impostors

Video games are more popular than ever this generation but such a thing has had a negative impact since it’s simply tougher for games to stand out or even survive. If a game isn’t the third or heaven forbid fifth entry in a core series then not only will it possibly not make a huge impact at release but it may become a distant memory a few months later. Back in the day it was relatively easy for certain games to stand out seeing as how we weren’t inundated with dozens of releases every month and we didn’t have addicting devices like smartphones during the PS1 generation.

Humanity Stands Up Against Heroes In This New Video For Injustice: Gods Among Us

Revealed in a way that was truly surprising, Injustice: Gods Among Us has already gotten a huge amount of buzz for a variety of reasons. First off it helps that the veteran team behind the Mortal Kombat games is crafting the super heroe based action of Injustice and secondly it’s just cool to see The Flash beat the living crap out of Superman once in a while.  While we’ve only see a small sampling of the game so far, a new video has been released in advanced of the upcoming reveals that will be made at the SDCC later this week.

Batman Could Be Poised For A Radical Video Game Departure

This week brings us the always glorious event that is the San Diego Comic Con. Filled with comic book goodness and our first look at major films that get our blood pumping and in some cases make our hearts flutter, the SDCC is simply an awesome event that over the years has grown to become more game centric.  While not becoming as major as other tradeshows such as E3 or even PAX Prime, the SDCC does bring its fair share of video game goodies, one of which may be the announcement of a new Batman game.
