Footage Arrives For Gotham by Gaslight, The Cancelled Batman Game

Time to weep once more as some footage has leaked from the cancelled Batman game Gotham by Gaslight.  A few weeks ago some basic concept art was leaked for the game which was being developed by Day 1 Studios (Fracture, F.E.A.R. 3). Beyond knowing the basic premise of the game, Batman is in 1800s Gotham hunting a Jack the Ripper like villain, the only definitive thing about the project was that it never got off the ground for reasons unknown.

There isn’t a whole lot going on today in the world of gaming, outside of purely trivial things, but something mildly interesting has arisen.  At this point in the current console generation Batman video games and superhero/licensed games as a whole have been redefined based on the work Rocksteady has done in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.
