Infamous 2

Find Out When Cole MacGrath Will Return In Infamous 2: Festival of Blood

Infamous 2 may have had endings that resolved things nicely depending on which path you decided to take, yet the journey of Cole MacGrath isn’t over just yet.  Announced out of the blue at Gamescom last month, Sucker Punch will be giving us the Infamous 2: Festival of Blood DLC which is going all Edward Cullen/Eric Northman on us due to the inclusion of vampires.

Sucker Punch Finally Joins The PlayStation Family

Tuesdays are usually a low point for news, more so in the Summer when absolutely nothing good pops up in between when E3 ends and the Tokyo Game Show begins.  Aside from the heat nearly killing all of us every day the Summer hasn’t been a complete dud so far as we’ve gotten a few good reveals and some decent games to play such as Infamous 2.  So far Infamous 2 has not only pleased the existing fans of the franchise but also brought an entirely new audience in thanks to the gritty world that developer Sucker Punch created.

Exclusive Interview With Actor Eric Ladin (Infamous 2)

It’s rare that we see a sequel to a video game in which the performances trump those found in the original.  These days it’s almost normal for a sequel to be released for a game in which the acting may be good but it’s just more of the same of what we saw in the original with just maybe a small amount of additional subtext added.  Or in some rare occasions we’ll get a sequel which tries to completely revamp a character and add more depth only for it to completely fail and seem almost unnecessary, much like Nathan Hale’s sudden character boost in Resistance 2.

Infamous 2 [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Infamous 2 once again is proof that you don’t need an established or widely mainstream hero to create an outstanding comic book style superhero game. While Infamous 2 may be far from the standard cliché white in shining armor & happy ending scenarios that are in other projects based around people with extraordinary abilities, the game is still entertaining with its nice mixture of adult tones and good characterizations.  The action offered in Infamous 2 will make fans of the first game more than happy as it improves upon the basics while adding a fresh dose of new powers that result in even crazier action scenarios.  It may not happen often, but Infamous 2 is a sequel that more than lives up to its predecessor.

The Pros:

+ The graphics are unbelievable as the city of New Marais looks gorgeous and the character models have tons of detail.
+ If you like blowing stuff up or throwing cars at enemies then you’ll love the action Infamous 2 has to offer. Super powers + open-world = tons of fun.
+ The story of Infamous 2 may not be as good as what was featured in the first Infamous, but I did like the added character depth that was given to Cole.
+ Exploring New Marais was enough to keep me occupied for a good chunk of time and the city itself has a lot of diversity in how it looks compared to Empire City.
+ The aspect of user-generated content may be limited right now, but there are a few cool missions online right now and as a whole the feature is a nice addition to the game.

The Cons:

-  Some of the missions towards the end of the game feel like they’re going through the motions a bit.
-  The addition of Nix is a low point for the game since she’s so damn annoying.
-  While the focus is clear, the story in Infamous 2 just doesn’t feel as cohesive and it’s a shame that the element involving The Beast isn’t pushed as much as it could’ve been.
-  I did encounter quite a few bugs/glitches in the game, some of which had me restarting an entire mission.
-  Outside of the opening and closing boss encounters, the boss battles throughout the game are a bit predictable and don’t utilize a specific ability of Cole’s in a huge way.

Often in life we’re faced with difficult decisions that will either have an immediate impact on our life or in some cases the lives of others.  I’m not just talking about deciding what we’re going to have for dinner or what movie we’re see but more pertinent things like what college we’re going to attend after High School or where we’re going to live.

Fist-Bump or Bitch-Slap: WB Interactive Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions

This is the love/hate relationship between the video game industry and myself. Every week I will pick someone who gets my Fist-bump for doing a good deed, someone who gets my undesirable Bitch-Slap for doing something wrong (or just something that pisses me off), and I'll share my experience/opinion along the way.

New Infamous 2 Trailer Shows How Easy It Is To Become A Super Powered Hero

It would be nice to have super powers but alas such a thing isn’t meant to be. Well, you won’t become a super powered badass unless you find yourself in the middle of a massive bomb crater or in the case of this new Infamous 2 trailer simply pick up a small item which can suddenly allow you to cause ice to erupt from the ground.  Yup, along with being able to shoot bolts of electricity at people and cause mini tornadoes, Infamous 2 leading man Cole can also dish up a cold plate of ass kicking thanks to his new ice powers. So yeah, Cole is totally going to go Mr.

Infamous 2 Is Getting A Mission Creation Mode [Video]

Infamous 2 has something else to add to its ever growing list of cool stuff it does: a mission creation mode.  Yes, Infamous 2 is entering the world of Play, Create, Share to become the first action adventure game on the PS3 to allow gamers to create their own missions albeit with a slightly limited toolset.  Gamers won’t be able to unleash their full creative juices as the mission creation mode in Infamous 2 will solely be limited to creating mission scenarios and not altering the world itself by adding huge pieces of geometry like creating new buildings or changing the landscape

Cole Is An Even Bigger Badass In This New Infamous 2 Video

I’m somewhat of a hard customer to please, and it’s rare that I see a game that pumps out such quality that I can’t help but be impressed in every way but at this point I’m still trying to figure out what the hell developer Sucker Punch has done to make Infamous 2 look so damn amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the first Infamous game and it’s one of the rare games that I set out to get a mission/bonus completion of 100%, but Infamous 2 is making the first game look like an absolute chump in every way.

The Karma Choices Of Infamous 2 Are Shown Off In These New Videos
