PAX Prime 2010

QuarterSave: The 50th Episode Spec-Tac-U-Lar with Samm and Eric

As you may have noticed QuarterSave has been gone a while, longer than planned in fact. Unfortunately the plans for a live-show out of Seattle were derailed when a laptop, who will remain nameless, crapped out during the recording destroying an epic hour-long show never to be heard by anyone but the few privileged that were in the room at the time. Episode 50, it would seem, refused to be captured without the addition of some VERY special guest stars.

TOROcast - Episode 68 - PAX Prime Round-Up

Team TOROcast returns victorious after PAX weekend 2010 this week with a brand new episode. After the boys spent the weekend in Seattle seeing the sights, and presenting TOR live at the Bioware panel, there’s plenty to talk about for sure. Catch up with Samm, Eric, and Brandon as they discuss all the goings on that happened during the PAX Prime weekend, as well as the “official” announcement of Corellia.

Per the usual, the show in their own words:

ShogunGamer News Wrap-Up: Sept. 6 - Sept. 10

So far the month of September is off to a good start thanks to a bevy of announcements made at PAX Prime 2010 along with other juicy gaming news tidbits.  Hell, who the would’ve thought that in the first week of September we would have actual hard hitting Duke Nukem Forever news, persistent rumors of a Mortal Kombat arcade remake and info on scenarios cut from Resident Evil 5?

LucasArts Spotlight [PAX PRIME]

You may have heard of a little franchise called Star Wars. Turns out it's made by a company called LucasArts who had a booth at this years PAX Prime. I booked an appointment with them on our first day to check out two titles I've been very curiously tracking - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II and Star Wars: The Old Republic Online.

Ubisoft Spotlight [PAX Prime]

One of my first appointments on the show floor at PAX Prime 2010 was with the guys over at Ubisoft. Originally the plan was to see Child of Eden as soon as possible, but unfortunately due to a scheduling conflict the game wasn’t actually viewable at the show this year. That didn’t mean that there weren’t plenty of other gems present though, and here’s where I’ll spot light a select few that caught my attention while being lead through the booth.

Bethesda Spotlight [PAX PRIME]

Our first day on the floor I made sure to book an appointment with Bethesda first thing. Those who frequent Shogun Gamer know I'm a huge Fallout fan, so I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this and Brink. In terms of booth design, it was very similar to what we saw at E3. The big T-Rex vegas statue was back, but this time Brink was being shown off as multiplayer matches, instead of E3's single player 20 minute demo. Below you can check out my thoughts on both titles and get a taste for what's in store from Bethesda.

Braid creator stealthily debuts his new game at PAX West

Once again PAX West served as a powerhouse event for gamers to get their hands on various games for the first time. Some games had major hype and anticipation going on for them such as Mortal Kombat or the long awaited return of Duke Nukem Forever.  But amongst the massive blockbuster games and hyped indie projects there was a game that even the general PAX West attendees or “esteemed” members of the gaming press may have missed amidst all the hoopla.
