PlayStation Move

New gameplay vid for Heroes on the Move is kind of meh

Next week is going to be huge if you’re a PS3 gamer since the PlayStation Move will finally be available in North America and Europe.  The launch games may be limited in their appeal, but there’s a nice flow of games set for release over the next few months which utilize the PS Move, one such being Heroes on the Move.

Find out what Ape Escape's debut on the PS3 will be like

One PlayStation game that for some reason never immediately caught on amongst gamers was Ape Escape.  Originally released in 1998, Ape Escape was a revolutionary title as it was the first PS1 game that was controlled only via the analog sticks, something to this day I still find impressive. Perhaps the overly wacky Japanese style and nature of the game was the main reason why Ape Escape never became a key PlayStation franchise like the likes of Ratchet & Clank.

Become a cowboy in Top Hand Rodeo Tour

So far we’ve seen a rather diverse line-up of games for the PlayStation Move.  Whether it’s a casual party game, a brain busting puzzler, or a hectic action game, the PlayStation Move seems to have everything covered. But what about those who want to become a cowboy and lasso a calf or tame a wild horse? Well later this year gamers can make that a reality in Top Hand Rodeo Tour.

PlayStation heroes unite in Heroes on the Move

Announced amidst a plethora of other PlayStation Move games, there wasn’t a lot of immediate excitement for Heroes on the Move. A mash-up of three key Sony franchises (Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter and Sly Cooper); Heroes on the Moved looked like an interesting concept but was brushed aside by many as being nothing more than a PS Move fluff game.

Virtua Tennis 4 bounces to the PS3 with an array of features

It’s time to put on you short-shorts, arm bands and get your arms ready as Virtua Tennis 4 is heading to the PS3 next year.  But this isn’t just your regular old iteration of Virtua Tennis as the game will support both the PlayStation Move and 3D gaming; two features that Sega is hoping will push the boundaries of realism in sports games.

Sony and Subway team up for the PlayStation Move

September is Sony’s big month since it’s the debut of the PlayStation Move. Without a doubt the PlayStation Move is the major showpiece for Sony this year eclipsing the release of games like Gran Turismo 5.  So in order to build up hype, Sony has teamed up with a few major partners such as Coca Cola to promote the PS Move to the masses.  But in an effort to make sure the wonders of the PlayStation Move fully reach a mass audience, Sony has announced a new partnership with Subway.

Fight Night producer comments on the possibility of PS Move/Kinectsupport

A few weeks ago EA announced Fight Night Champion, the newest entry in their long running boxing franchise.  The announcement of a new Fight Night game wasn’t a huge surprise, but it was met with a nice amount of anticipation.  Besides gamers wanting to test their pugilistic skills, many wondered if EA’s latest boxing game would support the new fangled motion control devices from Sony and Microsoft.

EA announces Create, a new LBP style game

It may have taken awhile, but we now have our first real LBP style copy cat thanks to EA’s just announced game Create.  Well, at this juncture it may be too harsh to call Create a LBP copy cat but it seems to borrow heavily from the core themes of Sony and Media Molecule’s hit game.

Early details on Ubisoft's Michael Jackson game

With the 1 year anniversary of his death just having passed, many are still mourning the loss of Michael Jackson. Despite whatever rumors, allegations or straight up wackiness that was associated with MJ you can’t deny that he was one hell of a performer and musician.

New PlayStation Move commercial has new games and unintentional humor

In just over two months gamers across the world will finally get their hands on the PlayStation Move.  Being the Sony fanboy that I am I must admit I’m rather excited for the Move as I was impressed with it at E3.  With a massive hardware launch akin to a new console almost at hand, Sony has released the first of many PS Move commercials/promo videos.

Echochrome 2 video shows off cool puzzles and PS Move support

If you like to label yourself as a hardcore PlayStation/PS3 fan then you probably played the PSN release Echochrome. And if for some unimaginable reason you didn’t or never heard of it before then shame on you. Like seriously, expect me to remove you from my PSN friends list if you didn’t play what ended up being one of the most original PSN games ever released. Thankfully more gamers will be able to check out Echochrome’s originality with upcoming release of Echochrome II.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm (PS Move) Hands-On [E3 2010]

It’s not too silly of me to say that most of us thought the PlayStation Move launch line-up would be geared towards the casual crowd.  With Sony’s pre-E3 showing not inspiring full confidence, the general thought of many was that we would get 10 party games and if we were lucky at least three games for us core gamers. Of course that isn’t the case as Sony is doing a nice job balancing the casual and core games for the impending September launch of the PS Move.  One surprise launch game is the return of the Time Crisis franchise with Time Crisis: Razing Storm.

Sony E3 2010 "LiveBlog" (yeah another one)

Hey everyone, it's me again and I'm doing yet another "liveblog" for E3 2010.  While my "liveblog" for Ubisoft's conference took place in a janky hotel, I'm currently in the E3 Media Room so I'm about 5 steps removed from actually being at Sony's conference. And hey, I can soak in the initial reactions from Sony's conference since I'm in a room with a bunch of other journos and bloggers who are as passionate as I am, including my fellow Shogun staff members.

New footage of Sports Champions for the PlayStation Move

At this point Sony’s E3 conference might as well be called “PlayStation Move and Friends” as it’s likely to be a dominant factor at Sony’s conference.  Some weren’t too impressed with the GDC showing of the PlayStation Move but so far the device has continued to gain traction despite its doubters.

PlayStation Move trademark possibly uncovered

Sony’s E3 press conference is pretty much going to be focused on the PlayStation Move.  With only a handful of games shown for the device and pricing details still rumored, E3 will be the place for Sony to give us the complete lowdown on the PS Move. One such detail we could learn about the PS Move is what the all important marketing tagline will be.
