Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank 2016 [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Ratchet and Clank is much more than the standard "remaster" or HD remake that we've been inundated with over the last couple of years. It not only improves the graphics, but adjusts the maps players are used to and re-writes portions of the story to modernize it and give it a new spin while making jokes at its own expense. The game is not only beautiful, but a whole lot of fun to run through (even if it's not your first time).

The Pros:

+Beautiful remasters character models and landscapes.

+Fun story with plenty of nods at it being a remaster.

+Solid mechanics that have been updated for the modern area.

The Cons:

-As with all remasters: I would have preferred a full new title.

ShogunGamer.com Rating :

Over the last couple of years I may have become an Xbox "fanboy" due to Microsoft being my perferred platform over the last two generations of console. Coming up as a kid though, my roots are firmly planted in the Sony Playstation lineage. Well, if you don't go too far back anyways where you'll find that I bleed blue and have been and always will be a Sega fanboy.

Ratchet & Clank CG Movie Finally Announced (Plus Heavenly Sword News)

At long last the PlayStation brand, or rather a key franchise, is going to arrive in the world of cinema.  After various projects have been kicked around such as live-action adaptations of Infamous, Killzone, Shadow of the Colossus, and Uncharted, none other than the Ratchet & Clank series will be the first key PlayStation property to grace the screens of movie theaters around the world.

Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Gets A Release Date + Price

After ten years of providing entertainment to gamers the Ratchet & Clank series doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon as evident by the latest entry, R&C: Full Frontal Assault. After being announced earlier this year, the newest R&C adventure has somewhat gone under the radar aside from a short closed multiplayer beta that went on earlier this year.  Even though the marketing and hype may not be in full blitz mode, the dynamic duo of Ratchet & Clank are once again poised to arrive on the PlayStation 3.

Details On Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Are Finally Uncovered

Perhaps forgotten about amidst all the exciting titles Sony showed off at E3 this year, a key PlayStation franchise is returning for what could be its final appearance on the PS3.  Announced earlier this year to mark the 10 year anniversary of the franchise, the Ratchet & Clank series is returning yet again in Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Switches To A Different Perspective In This Gameplay Video

As a longtime fan of the Ratchet & Clank series I had a nice amount of interest for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, the latest installment in the franchise which is somewhat of a spin-off from the main R&C Future series.  Over the years our favorite Lombax and robot may have made regular appearances on the PS3 and PSP, perhaps to the point of annoyance amongst some, but it was cool to see Insomniac Games and their new North Carolina studio bring some multiplayer action to the R&C franchise.

The Weapons Of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Are On Display In This New Video

Going strong for nearly a decade, the Ratchet & Clank series is known for a few key things but the most well-known trait about the game is that you can blow stuff up.  Obviously gamers have an affinity for R&C because the games often look gorgeous and have some nice platforming sections but gamers also enjoy how they can often destroy things in a variety of ways with the many weapons that are created by Insomniac Games.

Versus Verdict: Ratchet and Clank Win

Our second ever versus match was one that will be remembered in the video game fictional fight history docs, and our winners for the “Who Brought the Lube Showdown 2011” are Ratchet and Clank.

Insomniac Games announces Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

So far Gamescom 2010 has had a few surprises while other announcements have either been leaked previously or were to be expected. Sony on the other hand truly had a few surprises up their sleeve when it came to their Gamescom showing.  We all know that developer Insomniac Games was hard on work on multiple projects, some of which are PS3 exclusive while others are multiplatform. But I don’t think any of us truly expected a new Ratchet & Clank game to be shown today, let alone one that’s a 4-player co-op game.

ModNation Racers gets a release date and pre-order content

Sony’s unique take on kart racing will soon be upon us as it was announced today that ModNation Racers is set for a May 25th release. Since being unveiled at E3 last year the game has caught the attention of many since its Sony’s latest game featuring the “Play, Create, Share” moniker.  Earlier this year the game received positive feedback from those who participated in the beta so it looks like Sony could have another hit on their hands. I wasn’t lucky enough to get in the beta which resulted in another piece of my gamer soul turning to ash.

New 7 minute video of Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time

For some reason the buzz around the latest Ratchet & Clank adventure started off quite slow but things seem to be amping up now since we're over a month away from the release of the game.  We've seen a nice amount of images for the game and brief video snippets but now we have an a nice beefy 7 minute gameplay video which should win over some people who were still on the fence about the latest R&C adventure.
