Rockstar Reportedly Prepping Vita Games - For Now At Least

The hardware may be impressive, but the PlayStation Vita hasn’t exactly set the world on fire thanks to an uneven software library. There may be some standout games for the Vita, including the exceptional LBP entry, though games that capture a wide audience are still a rarity of sorts.  Sony may not have done the best job at marketing and showing what the future has in store for the Vita, but one studio that is reportedly supporting the device is Rockstar Games.

Rockstar Games Releases New GTAV Screens + Small Audio Tidbit, Tease Of Future Red Dead Announcement

We’ve been patiently waiting or something to be released since November and at long last Rockstar Games has given us our second look at Grand Theft Auto V.  Released today totally unexpectedly, we have two new in-game screenshots showing us the glorious and ever beautiful place that is Los Santos.  Seeing two simple screenshots may not be as epic as a grand trailer that shows us the world of Los Santos in great detail, but at this point I’m sure gamers will grab whatever GTAV media is given to them.

Max Payne 3 [Review]

Overall Feeling:

The various churning gears in Max Payne 3 result in one of the best action games to ever be released. Filled with action that has a glint of realism to it while channeling the spirit of classic Hong Kong cinema, Max Payne 3 is an action game that knows what its strengths are and simply plays those up in such a way that they never falter during the single-player campaign. From the acting to how the combat feels and how thought out the multiplayer modes are its almost unreal how good Max Payne 3 is since it delivers on all fronts.

The Pros:

+ Gun combat feels amazing in how the weapons react and how easy aiming is.

+ Graphics have loads of detail and small touches which make the world actually feel tangible.

+ The narrative may not have a GTA amount of depth to it, but Max’s dialog and the tone of the game is perfect for a Max Payne adventure.

+ The acting in the game is perfect as it feels completely natural and James McCaffrey is once again amazing as Max Payne.

+ Multiplayer modes bring some traditional goodness while instilling a mindset in gamers that isn’t CoD: Favela Edition.

The Cons:

- Certain action segments may be too much for some people in how suddenly outlandish they can be.

- The special camera effects used during cutscenes can be a bit much at times.

When something is taken from someone that can sometimes result in the person being broken to the point where they have no reason to live.  How is someone supposed to move on in their life when something they’ve cherished has been taken away from them, perhaps in an unjust way?  With Max Payne 3 gamers found themselves in a rare situation in which their feelings echoed those of the protagonist, this time a grizzled ex-cop with a penchant for hard liquor.

Rockstar San Diego Staffing Up For Next Major Project

Rockstar Games already has some massive projects in the works such as Max Payne 3, Grand Theft Auto V, and the ever illusive Agent but the famed studio could be gearing up for yet another presumably massive undertaking.  With work being underway on Grand Theft Auto V by the core Rockstar team in Scotland, Rockstar San Diego has been extremely quiet, even by Rockstar standards, as to what was next after the blockbuster success that was Red Dead Redemption.

Rockstar Games Releases New Max Payne 3 Game Doc Video

It seems slightly surreal that after waiting almost three years we’re finally going to receive a new Max Payne game. Rockstar Games may have already shown us a glimpse at the near down trodden yet action packed adventure of Max Payne 3, but now we have a better look at what we can expect from the game thanks to this new video showcasing the design and tech being implemented into the project.

Max Payne 3 Screens Features Lots Of Explosions, Bullets and Moody Atmosphere

At this point we all may be in a fervor over the impending release of the GTA5 announcement trailer tomorrow, but Rockstar Games still has one other project in the pipeline we best not forget about: Max Payne 3.  In a way Rockstar may be stealing their own thunder since gamers are slightly fonder of GTA than the antics of the tortured soul that is Max Payne, but the long awaited third entry in the Max Payne series is looking rather good and grim in all the right places.

Shocker! Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition Announced.

Rockstar Games announced today the inevitable yearly gaming event as once again a Game of the Year Edition of a game will soon hit retail stores. Rockstar made the announcement today that Red Dead Redemption will receive the "official" GOTY Edition status rather than some sticker attached proclaiming one of its many "Game of the Year" awards.

Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition will be available to purchase on October 11th (Oct 14th UK) for only $50 and naturally will include all of the previously released downloadable content.

Extremely Early Screens Of Rockstar Games' Agent Have Leaked

It’s rare that we receive something truly unexpected in the video game biz, especially on a Monday, but that’s the case today. After slowly becoming something synonymous as the latest big project to possibly become vaporware, some early screens of Rockstar’s PS3 exclusive* Agent have leaked. Now before we all get excited at the prospect of finally seeing what Agent looks like there are two big things to keep in mind: 1. These screens aren’t of the best quality and 2. They’re from an old build which has likely been cast aside at this point by Rockstar San Diego.

Rockstar Games Reveals More DLC For Red Dead Redemption Is Planned

I thought I had hung up my spurs, six shooters and cowboy hat up for good but that doesn’t seem to be the case based on what Rockstar Games revealed today.  As good as it was to end the DLC journey of Red Dead Redemption with the Undead Nightmare adventure, Rockstar Games has confirmed today that they will be releasing another wave of DLC later this year.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is a piece of DLC that goes far beyond the standard conventions. For what it offers which includes the always incredible production values from Rockstar Games, Undead Nightmare is a wonderful extension of RDR even if it features zombies, flaming horses and a Sasquatch. If you own RDR then you owe it to yourself to check out Undead Nightmare even if you don’t have an immediate affinity for the undead.

The Pros:

The zombie minions are executed wonderfully in their design, attacks and overall vibe. The small additions made to the world really bring another layer of character and style to everything. The story thankfully manages to maintain the serious tone of RDR while offering some nice dark humor. Undead Overrun, the new multiplayer mode, is addicting as hell. There’s a Sasquatch, nuff said.

The Cons:

Some of the missions are a bit derivative. The controls can still be a bit touchy at times.

As I ride along the Western landscape filled with nothing but different types of plan, sand and dirt I notice something very strange: there’s not a single peep of life.  Despite becoming accustomed to the often lonesome nature of the Old West, it’s slightly strange to not see anything rustling the bushes or roaming the sky as I ride atop my horse.
