Snoopy Flying Ace

The developers behind Snoopy Flying Ace reveal their next project

Snoopy Flying Ace is far and away one of the biggest surprises of this year and following up the success that game had, developer Smart Bomb Interactive have unveiled their next project – the web based Sky Legends.  Smart Bomb are sticking to familiar territory as Sky Legends is once again an airplane based combat game much in the same vein as Snoopy Flying Ace.

Snoopy and co. are back with a new DLC pack for Snoopy Flying Ace

Back in June, Xbox 360 gamers were greeted with Snoopy Flying Ace, a game I simply adored due to it’s respect of the Peanuts franchise and the terrific aerial base combat it provided.  Snoopy Flying Ace had quite a lot of content in it but now developer Smart Bomb Interactive has released a new DLC pack filled with enough content to keep all those Snoopy enthusiasts out there occupied.

Snoopy Flying Ace review + Free Game Give Away

Overall Feeling:

Snoopy Flying Ace is just pure solid arcade flying fun. With a nice line-up of weapons and levels, the game never gets old and it just gets better as time goes on. For only 800 MS points Snoopy Flying Ace is a complete blast and is one of the best games to be released on XBLA.

The Pros:

Piloting the planes is easy and fun and the various weapons all have power to them. The game strikes the perfect balance between retaining the classic Peanuts look while still adding some new character to things. The multiplayer modes are a blast thanks to the hectic action of being a WWI fighter pilot.

The Cons:

Single-player campaign mode is bare bones story wise. A few of the weapons, mainly the Leech, feel a bit unbalanced at times.

When I was lucky enough to attend PAX East back in March there was one game that immediate caught my attention.

Exclusive Snoopy Flying Ace interview

When I was walking around the showfloor of PAX East there was one game I was surprised to see at the show. With powerhouses like Red Dead Redemption, Crackdown 2 and Hydrophobia at the show I was really surprised to see Snoopy Flying Ace in attendance. Yeah I know, Snoopy Flying Ace hasn’t been hyped as much as other XBLA games have but to be honest it should.  After getting some hands-on time with the game I was really impressed with the latest game starring the devilishly cute dog Snoopy.

[PAX East] Hands-on with Snoopy Flying Ace

Most people don’t know this about me but I’m kind of a softy.  Sure, I like really violent games and I often find myself laughing with glee as I hijack a car and proceed to run over the driver.  But when I’m not doing heinous acts of violence I enjoy simple things like Snoopy.  I’m not exactly a huge fan of Charles Schulz’s famous comic/cartoon Peanuts, but I do love the goofy fool that is Snoopy.  After appearing in the PS2 game Snoopy vs. the Red Baron, the famous dog is once again entering the world of video games with Snoopy Flying Ace for Xbox Live Arcade.
