Starhawk Hands-On Impressions [E3 2011]

Multiplayer gaming may be something that is a huge aspect of gaming today, but at times I just don’t want to be bothered with it.  I’m all for jumping into a game with some buddies and performing some sort of heroic badass action, but when it comes to playing a game with a group of strangers I really haven’t had the best of experiences.  Despite my feelings towards multiplayer games I became hooked on Warhawk.

Sony Reportedly Revealing New God of War Game This Afternoon [E3 2011]

In a few hours we’re going to receive some potential megaton announcements from Sony, or at least that’s what we’re hoping for.  Sony may not give us a glimpse at the next iteration of the core PlayStation console just yet, but they could very well give us the complete lowdown on the NGP/PlayStation Vita and some of the rumored unannounced PS3 games they have in the pipeline (Sly 4, SCE London’s projects).  Of course there are bound to be a few familiar faces during Sony’s E3 presentation today, one of which will be the return of God of War.

Uncharted 3 Is Getting A Collector's Edition + New Co-Op Mode Video

Uncharted 3 is shaping up to be a complete blockbuster experience for a few major reasons. Obviously the biggest thing UC3 has going for it is that it’s the sequel to one of the most adored games to hit this generation and it also helps that the game is just fine as hell to look at.  Developer Naughty Dog may not have made a massive leap in the visuals department compared to UC1 and UC2, but Uncharted 3 still looks nice but isn’t simple eye candy.

New Uncharted and Wipeout NGP Screens Looks Amazing (PS Vita Is Mini PS3 Confirmed)

Sony’s successor to the PSP is poised to make a huge impact at E3 next week and today we have a small taste of the impending shock & awe that the NGP i.e. the PlayStation Vita will create.  There’s no questioning that the NGP (let’s just call it that for now) is a powerful handheld as the direct game footage Sony showed running on the device in January was beyond belief and that it what we were seeing was merely early generation 1 software made the power of the system even more staggering.

Our Prayers Have Been Answered: David O. Russell No Longer Writing/Directing The Uncharted Film

The Uncharted franchise is one that’s quickly approaching the iconic stage after the success of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and the impending release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. But there was one possible potential stumble for the Uncharted series with the production of the live-action adaptation in the works at Sony Pictures. Uncharted has all the makings to be a potential mega-hit film franchise, but after acclaimed director/writer David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter) came aboard, things took a turn for the worst.

Europe Gets A Rather Extensive Resistance 3 Collector's Edition

For a lot of us video games are a deep passion that goes beyond just spending a few hours a day playing GTAIV, Madden or Killzone 3.  Personally speaking, I can attest to how video games are a major hobby of mine and how I have no problem laying down the bucks when required to pick up something that appeals to me. This generation it seems like publishers have finally realized just how major the fandom of video game fans is since we’ve seen an almost non-stop flow of specialty SKUs for major games.

Sony May Be Releasing A New Competitor In The Dance Game Genre

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: the peripheral based music gaming genre is completely dead.  With Activision giving the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero franchises a “break” this year (i.e.

Sony Reveals The PSP Remaster Series (PSP Games For The PS3)

The PSP may have had a lot of hit games released during its life cycle, but gamers often wondered if we would ever see a popular PSP game re-released for the PS3.  Sony is of course familiar with porting popular PS2 games to the PS3 in HD versions like the Sly Collection and we even saw some PSP games such as Motorstorm: Arctic Edge pop up on the PS2.  The main theory people had behind Sony being selective in their HD offerings was that the company didn’t want to take away any business from the PSP and giv

The Adventures Of Ratchet & Clank Will Continue This October With R&C: All 4 One

The Ratchet & Clank series has always been one that I’ve held close to my heart.  A good old fashioned platforming game is something I always enjoy and the R&C series has always brought it in providing a thoroughly enjoyable experience that also has the added bonus points of looking mighty nice visually and having enough firepower to make Ted Nugent proud.

SOCOM Developer Zipper Interactive Has Some Staff Reductions

I don’t know if this news is something that should make us all worried, but developer Zipper Interactive has issued a series of layoffs in the wake of SOCOM 4’s release.  Aside from the Lead Designer leaving the studio last month, several other section Leads have left, specifically the Lead Programmer, the Audio Lead and the Graphics Lead. In addition to these departures, Zipper has reportedly laid off thirty-three employees.
