Motorstorm: Apocalypse Gets Bumped From April To...

After receiving a logical delay and a perhaps too cautious delay in Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that Motorstorm: Apocalypse will be delayed in North America. Originally the game was set to drop on April 19th, a month after its debut in Europe.  But after the horrific incidents that rocked Japan two weeks ago, SCE has decided to bump Motorstorm: Apocalypse to an unspecified release window for this year.

Disaster Report 4, Yakuza: Of the End Get Delayed/Canned In Japan

A lot of bad stuff happens in the world, but usually it doesn’t have an impact on the games we play. Due to the horrific and entirely unforeseen earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit Japan on Friday, several video game publishers have opted to either delay or entirely cancel their projects.

Ape Escape Makes Its Debut On The PS3 This June

I like monkeys and apes mainly because they’re cute. Sure, if you ever make one angry or play with one too aggressively they’ll likely rip your arm off or possibly bite half of your face off, but such a thing can’t prevent me from enjoying some monkey and ape action. Due to my love of primates, I always had a fond spot in my heart for the slightly underrated Ape Escape series.

NGP Could Be Bound For Europe This Year

For once gamers around the world may not get shafted as Sony could be launching the NGP (their successor to the PSP) worldwide this year.  When Sony unveiled the NGP in early February, the company didn’t commit to a firm release date aside from commenting that the device would begin to roll out this year.  So when exactly will the NGP begin to roll out?  Well our friends in the United Kingdom may be excited to hear that the NGP could come as early as November.

Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection May Be Receiving A Delay [Rumor]

We could have a heart breaking delay on our hands as word is coming in that the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection will miss its intended Spring release window. The release date for the HD versions of Ico and SOTC has always been a vague one as Sony didn’t announce a definitive date when the games were shown at TGS last year, but for the past few months retailers like Gamefly have listed the game for a March/April release, which in terms of being achieved didn’t seem like it was too far off from becoming a reality.

Uncharted 3 Has An Unlikely Villain [Video]

The Uncharted series has always done a rather excellent job at giving us good villains.  Instead of having a somewhat outlandish baddie, we’ve faced off against guys who were either ruthless or insane but never quite reached cartoon type levels of insanity.  Uncharted is basically a pulp novel or comic book come to life but the series thankfully hasn’t stayed too close to its pulp nature by giving us villains who really aren’t interesting at all.

PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter [Review]

Overall Feeling:

The PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter may not completely change the way we play games with the PS Move, but the device is a nice addition for those who like to play games with Sony’s motion controller.  While I may not have had the definitive experience when using the Sharp Shooter when playing Kllzone 3, Sony’s new peripheral isn’t just a cheap gimmick and actually has a lot of potential if the software out there is engaging.  With a reasonable price ($39), there isn’t a huge barrier of entry for the Sharp Shooter aside from the amount of worthy action centric PlayStation Move games currently available on the market.  If the amount of thrilling games increase, then the Sharp Shooter is definitely something you may want to look into if you’re an avid lover of motion gaming or want to recreate the vibe of playing arcade lightgun games.

The Pros:

+ The design of the Sharp Shooter is brilliant and doesn’t feel like a cheap plastic shell.
+ There’s a nice weight to the gun, especially once the PlayStation Move and Nav Con are inserted.
+ Holding the gun and using the Nav Con feels entirely comfortable.
+ Using the Sharp Shooter for games like Time Crisis: Razing Storm or Dead Space: Extraction is really fun.

The Cons:

- The Square and Triangle buttons are a bit small, at least for my massive fingers.
- When used with Killzone 3, I really didn’t find things to be amazing.
- I wish the secondary fire trigger had more of a click to it or more resistance, if only to prevent accidental firings during certain occasions.

A lot of things have changed over the years as we play games and the industry continues to evolve.  The games we play get bigger, better, more pleasing from a visual perspective and the way we play games has changed as well.  If you told anyone during the heyday of the PS2 era that one day we would have three different consoles that would all support motion gaming in various forms, I think someone would tell you to stop smoking whatever it was you decided to take a puff of.  But here we are, in the bright and always optimistic (ok, sometimes optimistic) year of 2011 and the v

A New Multiplayer Mode For SOCOM 4 Is Announced Along With Beta Details

Being just over a month away from release, Sony and Zipper Interactive have finally begun to push SOCOM 4 a little bit by revealing a brand new multiplayer mode along with giving us our first details on the upcoming beta, including the much sought after start date.  We’ve already seen what SOCOM 4 has to offer on the multiplayer front as the game is featuring the basic modes (Uplink, Last Defense, Suppression) – all of which are sans vehicles of course since that didn’t go over too well back

Resistance 3 Multiplayer Footage Looks Fast, Fun And Exciting

Yesterday Insomniac Games finally detailed the multiplayer aspect of Resistance 3 and now we have footage of said goodness in action.  The glorious multiplayer footage we have today isn’t riddled with too many reveals as far as abilities and weapons are concerned, but it does show that Insomniac are indeed going back to basics with Resistance 3 while still offering a nice amount of new elements that should make the multiplayer mode feel fresh.

First Details On The Multiplayer Mode of Resistance 3 Aren't Disappointing At All

So far Insomniac Games has done a good job mending the damage that was caused by Resistance 2 when it comes to discussing Resistance 3, the forthcoming and possible final installment in the core Resistance franchise.  Resistance 2 by no means was a horrendous game, but in respect to the first Resistance it just seemed like Insomniac tried to do too much in R2 and it ultimately bit them in the ass.  The prospect of having epic 60-player multiplayer battles in locales like an American forest seemed like it was a good idea, but ultimately things were messy and often muddled compared
