More Possible Doom & Gloom: Another Team Ico/SCEJ Staffer Departs

We may have received a slightly reassuring update concerning The Last Guardian nearly two weeks ago, but today the long in development project has received another setback of sorts. After Team Ico frontman Fumito Ueda announced that he would be leaving SCEJ and simply complete his work on The Last Guardian in a contractual basis, yet another Team Ico staffer is departing Sony.

New Update On The Last Guardian Is More Of The Same - Not Good News

In case you still care or like to read things that will crush your heart, we have our quarterly update on The Last Guardian.  The long in development game from Team Ico started off strong when it was unveiled at E3 2009 but since then it’s fallen off the radar due to development issues, and was seemingly so troubled that Team Ico head Fumito Ueda announced that he was departing SCEJ yet would stay onboard on a contractual basis to finish the game.

Film Version Of Shadow Of The Colossus Still Alive, Director Chosen

Sony seems to be pushing for more of their video game properties to go the cinematic route as Sony Pictures division is currently attempting to bring both Uncharted and Twisted Metal to the big screen.  The common belief is that most movies based on games tend to be varying degrees of garbage, but what will happen when a talented young director is assigned to take on a video game that’s loved for its uniqueness and complete lack of dialogue and obvious story exposition?

Our Newest Slightly Soul Crushing Update On The Last Guardian

I really want there to be some good news about The Last Guardian but at this point I don’t know when or if we’ll actually receive such a thing. Now like most rumors, Sony and Fumito didn’t bother to comment on the rumor – thus igniting debates amongst gamers wondering if the rumor was legit while others were praying that it was false.

[Rumor] Team Ico Head Fumito Ueda Reportedly Has Left Sony

Today may end up being a day of mourning in the PlayStation nation as famed game developer Fumito Ueda has reportedly left Sony. Best known as the creator of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, Fumito was the head of Team Ico which for the last few years have been hard at work on The Last Guardian.  Eurogamer is reporting that Fumito has departed Team Ico and SCEJ and will be wrapping up his duties on The Last Guardian in a freelance capacity i.e.

The Last Guardian Gets Delayed. Is Anyone Surprised?

In a way we should’ve all seen this coming, but today Team Ico head Fumito Ueda has made a somewhat disappointing but entirely expected announcement concerning The Last Guardian.  Taking to the Euro PlayStation Blog, Fumito has revealed that due to the desire to produce a quality game Sony and Team Ico are delaying The Last Guardian from its originally Holiday 2011 release.

Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection May Be Receiving A Delay [Rumor]

We could have a heart breaking delay on our hands as word is coming in that the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection will miss its intended Spring release window. The release date for the HD versions of Ico and SOTC has always been a vague one as Sony didn’t announce a definitive date when the games were shown at TGS last year, but for the past few months retailers like Gamefly have listed the game for a March/April release, which in terms of being achieved didn’t seem like it was too far off from becoming a reality.

Additional Details On The Last Guardian Are Revealed

Amongst the already stellar 2011 line-up for the PS3, The Last Guardian is definitely near the top if not at the top of gamer’s lists across the world.  Obtaining such a position in the mindset of gamers isn’t an easy feat but such a thing can be attributed to the lineage of The Last Guardian and how breathtaking the game looks in both picture and video form.
