Link to the Past Receives a Sequel [Nintendo Direct]

This morning Nintendo resumed their new trend of direct-to-consumer release information via another installment of their “Nintendo Direct” series. Basically a online webcast in the vein of a press conference that all fans of Nintendo can join online. This video detailed Nintendo’s plans moving forwards for the Nintendo 3DS, year of Luigi, and the Wii U. Why is another Nintendo Direct worth writing about? Well, because this one featured information about a new Zelda game and Earthbound’s plans to come to NA.

Batman Returns In Two Brand New Arkham Video Games

As expected, and long rumored, WB Games has announced the next entry in the Batman Arkham video game series. Titled Batman: Arkham Origins, the next entry in the rather successful Batman video game franchise will take us on an early adventure in the Dark Knight’s career, not so much that he was still wet behind the ears but had yet to meet some of his soon to be lifelong enemies.

Disney Unveils The Imagination Driven Experience Of Disney Infinity

Today is one of the rare times I wish I could visit the offices of Activision brass as I’m sure the company is in a conniption fit over the reveal made by Disney today.  No, Disney didn’t go on yet another massive purchase spree along the lines of gobbling up Marvel and LucasFilm, but the house Mickey Mouse built did reveal a new game that essentially takes the Skylanders formula to the next level; hence Bobby Kotick is probably in full-on evil Sith Lord mode.

Marvel Heroes Unite In Lego Marvel Super Heroes

After being denied a game based upon The Avengers due to THQ’s poor business practices, we may finally have the long awaited Marvel action video game romp we’ve been yearning for.  Now we shouldn’t get too ahead of ourselves as we aren’t receiving a massive action game based directly on the Marvel cinematic universe via Activision or even Ubisoft. Instead, we're going to receive Lego Marvel Super Heroes thanks to WB Games and TT Games.

Resident Evil: Revelations Could Be Making An Appearance On The PS3/Xbox 360

Port begging may have finally paid off in a rather unlikely way.  No matter what games may be available for certain consoles there’s always a desire to have something we can’t have - in this case a game for platform X.  Despite most games being multiplatform in nature, there are still a few platform exclusives here and there but Capcom could be doing PS3/Xbox 360 gamers and Resident Evil fans in particular, a huge solid by porting Resident Evil: Revelations.

Wreck-It Ralph Is Front and Center In These New Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Screens

Potentially stirring up debates of marketing pushed too heavily within a game, Sega has released some new screens showcasing the appearance Wreck-It Ralph, the main character of the upcoming Disney CG film of the same name, in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.  Announced rather subtly earlier this Summer via a Sega blog post, Sega has released brand new screens showing Ralph and classic Sega characters in some rather intense yet colorful kart racing action.

Liberation Maiden and Two Other Guild 01 Games Are Coming To NA/EU

A rare occurrence has happened in the video game industry as gamers in North America and Europe are set to receive a Japanese games, or games in this case, that they’ve desired.  As several trademark registrations already hinted at, Level-5 will be bringing three games from the Guild 01 collection to North America and Europe.

Pro-Tips: Pokémon Part 1

It’s been 14-years since Nintendo introduced the world to one of the best selling role-playing games of all time, Pokémon... and just like creatures you train, the game has evolved over the years. In this Pro-Tips, we’ll break down everything there is to know about those cute killing machines, how to become the best trainer like no one ever was, and what you can expect when Pokémon Black and White 2 hits store shelves.

Spy Hunter Film Gets Put On The Fast Track

Maybe Warner Bros. will set things right within the video game movie arena since the studio is seemingly prepping yet another high-profile film based upon a game.  Besides the forthcoming Mortal Kombat film, which will be separate from season two of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, WB is resurrecting the Spy Hunter series in a presumably epic action movie sort of way that may or may not star an overwhelmingly dull yet attractive actor as the lead.

Is Capcom Prepping A Monster Hunter Movie?

Capcom may be readying another film adaptation of a core video game property, which based on the history of the company will either be a massive commercial and critical dud at the box office or will likely never become anything more than a mere pitch.  After giving us film versions of Street Fighter, Capcom is apparently preparing a film adaptation for none other than Monster Hunter.
