THQ and South Park Studios Dispute Over Fate Of South Park: Stick of Truth

Today is the day that we’ve all been waiting for in some ways as it’s auction day for THQ. After trying their best to change in the hopes of staying afloat, the foundations of THQ ultimately crumbled and the company’s assets are now being sold off to the highest bidder.

Interview With Actor Tim Phillipps (Dante in DmC: Devil May Cry)

Just like any other medium of entertainment there’s often a connection between a gamer and the characters they control.  Perhaps forged deeper due to the interactive nature of video games, we often love the characters we interact with or control since the writing and acting in games far surpasses what we experienced fifteen years ago.

Next-Gen Perceptions and The Time For Change

Within the next few months we may at long last receive the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft; “officially” kickstarting the new console generation for those who don’t find the Wii U appealing. Usually the arrival of a next-gen console results in gamers being excited about what the future holds since seeing how games will evolve and be pushed is something that we ultimately wait six to seven years to see.

Interview With Actor Rich McDonald (Call of Duty: Black Ops II)

Finding out exactly what sort of traits a heroic character should have is far from being an easy undertaking.  Trying to build a character and do something that either hasn’t already been done before or simply feels original is where the difficulty usually derives from.

THQ Assets Officially Up For Auction This Month

After the news broke on Friday that some would-be objections could stall the sale/salvaging of THQ, the matters have been discussed by the involved parties with one major result: THQ is officially dead.  It may sound like I’m stating the obvious, but today it was officially revealed that THQ will be up for auction on January 22nd and that all its assets (studios, IPs,) will be available to purchase.

Crash Bandicoot Reboot Could Be In The Works

A once legendary video game character could be poised for a major revival if a leaked image is to be believed. Regarded back in the day as the next big thing,  the era of Crash Bandicoot came to a close once Naughty Dog, the original creators of Crash, decided to move on to bigger and better things. Crash didn’t immediately die once Naughty Dog left, but he didn’t exactly receive the attention required to keep him relevant, a thing which led to the franchise to die a few years ago.

The Woes Of THQ Continue

Perhaps this could be construed as a joke concerning that it’s the start of a new year yet more problems are arising, but once again there’s drama in the world of THQ.  After a string of failed projects, bad business decisions, and similar things of that ilk, THQ opted to go the easy route in a sense by allowing an investment group (Clearlake) to effectively buy the company and continue business as usual, at least that was the plan devised by THQ company brass.

Star Trek: The Video Game Gets Release Date (No, There Aren't Any Khan/Gary Mitchell Teases)

Last week sci-fi fans were chattering about one thing they were waiting months for: the first trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness, the follow-up to the franchise reboot helmed by J.J Abrams.  Say what you will about the finer points of the massive restart button that was pressed on the Trek franchise, but as an action pop-corn flick it gave us the goods thus a sequel was prepped.

THQ Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Remaining Assets Likely To Be Sold [Update]

The timing may be unfortunate but the inevitable has happened: THQ has filed for bankruptcy. After suffering several major setbacks, the chief of which was the uDraw HD debacle, THQ has been on an ever steady decline despite solid software releases, with the exception being WWE 13 of course.

Kaiju Combat Could Finally Become A Reality

In the interest of keeping you fine folks up to date with certain things, and to further show a project that the Shogun Gamer staff holds dear to their hearts, I thought I would give y’all a general update on the Kaiju Combat Kickstarter campaign
