Japanese publishers outline their TGS 2010 lineups

The Tokyo Game Show is a mere three weeks away and as always the anticipation for the event is high.  In the past three years TGS hasn’t exactly been the place for many major announcements, but there are always a few standout games or unique reveals which often make up for the lack of megaton announcements.

Hands-on with Yakuza PSP (Black Panther) [Video]

Earlier today, Sega released the Japanese demo for Black Panther, the debut game of the Yakuza franchise on the PSP. Being a fan of the Yakuza franchise and having an affinity for slightly over-the-top Japanese games I of course downloaded the demo as soon as I could.  After spending a good amount of time with the demo, I think Sega and the Yakuza team should be proud of their debut effort on Sony’s handheld.

Yakuza PSP demo now available for all to enjoy

While Yakuza’s debut on the PSP may only be destined for Japan, that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t at least try a sample of it.  With the game set for release in Japan next month, a demo has finally been released so we can all see if Yakuza’s jump to the PSP was worth the wait.

Shogun Gamer News Wrap-Up: August 2 - August 6

Despite being the first week of August, there was surprisingly a good amount of news that was actually news worthy. Most of the time the beginning of August is an absolute dull period for gaming with next to no big releases until the latest iteration of Madden hits the masses.

Become a MMA fighter on the PSP in UFC Undisputed 2010

UFC Undisputed 2010 may have hit the PS3/Xbox 360 already, but now the popular MMA game is making its PSP debut next month.  Up until now we haven’t seen much of anything of UFC’s debut in the PSP gaming arena but now THQ has released the first in-game screens of the MMA simulator.

A direct port of the PS3/360 version, UFC Undisputed 2010 for the PSP has all the content one would expect from the series.  Featuring over 100 fighters, various game modes including Career, and Ad-hoc multiplayer action, UFC Undisputed 2010 has all the makings for a solid MMA game.

WTF?! - a new PlayStation Minis game

We haven’t seen that many good games as part of the PlayStation Minis label. There have been a few standouts, but most are directly focused at the casual audience or are lacking a certain level of refinement.  But developer Mediatonic is following up the success they had with Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess with their new game, WTF?!.
