Witness The Battle Between The Three Factions Of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is still one of those games that has a lot of people on the fence about whether it’s going to be good or bad.  The premise of the game has potential, but the gameplay footage and hands-on impressions, such as the one from yours truly, haven’t been too glowing.  Capcom and developer Slant Six may not have an immediate classic on their hands as Operation Raccoon City could ultimately turn out to be a competently made Resident Evil game that entertains us for a few weeks.

Is Monster Hunter Coming To The PlayStation Vita? [Rumor]

Since launching in Japan last month the PlayStation Vita hasn’t exactly had a hugely successful launch. Despite the software being mostly good and the majority of the hardware devoid of any major issues, the Vita has struggled to find an audience, perhaps due to gamers in Japan being fascinated with their smartphones or merely busy playing games on the Nintendo 3DS.  No one is calling the Vita a doomed device as of now, aside from a few silly folks, but it’s clear that the handheld needs a much needed boost to its mild vital signs.

The Beauty and Action Of Asura's Wrath Is On Display In This New Video

Gamers haven’t yet seen the full extent of the beautiful classical and sci-fi design elements that are offered in Asura’s Wrath, the new action game from Capcom and CyberConnect 2. Inspired by manga’s, Asura’s Wrath is one of those games that seems like it doesn’t give a crap about anything as far as maintaining industry norms or simply offering a design aesthetic that is “safe”.  Intent on telling a grand tale that takes place in the future and revolves around warring gods, Asura’s Wrath has the potential to be the first truly badass game of 2012 and this new trailer shows us why.

Some Classic Heroes and Villains Return In Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City [Video]

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City has finally done something that could please fans of Resident Evil 2 but at the same time it’s far from being perfect. In addition to the main gameplay mode that has gamers assuming the roles of top tier Umbrella soldiers, Operation Raccoon City will also provide “retro” RE action via playable characters from the prestigious Resident Evil 2.

The Platforming Action Of Devil May Cry Is Showed Off In This New Vid

The end of 2011 is almost upon us and the unthinkable has happened: an exceptional looking Devil May Cry video has been released. Now, just hang in there for a minute as I’m not a complete hater of Capcom’s Devil May Cry reboot and more importantly the video in question does show off some original elements that don’t tarnish the DMC gamers love so much.

The Sci-Fi FPS Action Of Nexuiz May Finally Be Ready For Release

At long last the FPS genre may receive a bit of old-school gameplay injected with new-school style as Nexuiz has been rated by the Australian certification board.  As most gamers will know, when a game is finally given certification either by PEGI, the ESRB, or the Australian government it usually means release is imminent within the next few months.

The Mega Marathon: Year One

For those of you that didn’t happen to catch the shout-outs on Facebook and Twitter over the last week, Shogun Gamer helped to throw on a Charity Drive on behalf of Child’s Play Charity this weekend. It was called “The Mega Marathon” and featured an attempt at completing 18 Mega Man titles (spanning the entirety of the Mega Man and Mega Man X series) in the hopes of raising $10,000.00 to put towards the charity.

Newest Resident Evil: Retribution Set Pic Shows Milla Jovovich In An Interesting Costume

So far we’ve gotten a decent amount of details concerning Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth live-action Resident Evil movie that you may either be hyped for or utterly detest.  The Resident Evil film series hasn’t exactly been top tier stuff in the world of cinema nor has it exactly provided an accurate or entirely faithful adaptation of the Resident Evil games. But despite whatever major discrepancies there may be between the Resident Evil films and the video games, I still find myself fond of the RE films.

Capcom Reveals Somewhat Lackluster Asura's Wrath Pre-Order Bonuses

Capcom has announced some pre-order incentives for their upcoming action romp Asura’s Wrath, you know since all gamers love having pieces of content doled out between different retailers only to be sold later for $2-$5 a pop.  Slightly pessimistic attitude aside, some of the pre-order goodies for Asura’s Wrath do sound a bit suspicious in nature – almost mirroring the situation gamers went through last week which found Capcom selling what were effectively cheat codes for Dead Rising 2.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record [Review]

Overall Feeling:

Overall it was very difficult to find play value in this $40 title if you've already played Dead Rising 2. If you happened to skip it because you felt that a Dead Rising without Frank West wasn't worth it (it was still good in its own right, though) then this is all you were looking for.

The Pros:

+Sandbox Mode means hordes of zombies will die without the hindrance of time limits

+Interesting look into the life of Frank West, who now looks like Dan Aykroyd; post-Dead Rising

+New weapon combos

The Cons:

-It's basically an expansion pack for Dead Rising 2

-You can't get around the Zombrex this time

-Only real new addition is the just-opened Uranus Zone

ShogunGamer.com Rating :
6

Right off the bat, Dead Rising 2 seemed a little too much like Capcom wanted to rush out another Dead Rising title as soon as possible. Not that the game felt broken or sloppy at all, but really just that, as a full release, it didn't seem to have a lot to offer to the series other than a "what-if" scenario where Frank was on the scene at Fortune City instead of Chuck. While it was nice to see the addition of at least one new area and some fresh weapon combos, the whole thing felt like something that should have been DLC instead.
