A group called L4D Boycott (NO-L4D2) on Steam's forum has gather almost 10,000 people and rising to boycott Valve's upcoming Left 4 Dead sequel. Some points they have cited were:
• Significant content for L4D1 was promised, and never delivered
• Valve put little faith in L4D1 since they almost certainly started working on L4D2 right after release
• The fact that L4D2 is nearly identical to L4D1 will decimate the community for both games
• The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes
• The new character designs seem bland and unappealing so far
• L4D2 is too bright to fit in with L4D1's visual aesthetic
• The fiddle-based horde music is extremely disliked, though the differently orchestrated music is otherwise welcome
• L4D2's release will result in a drop in quality and frequency for L4D1 content, even compared to before
• The community has lost faith in Valve's former reputation for commitment to their games post-release

Love the video. I felt the first one had to little stuff and good thing I never bought it. Now Valve has a pr nightmare on their hands. They usually do what Blizzard does and release games when they are done. The group is doing the right thing in boycotting the game because L4D hasn't been out a year and a new one is already coming out.
I can't say I really understand why they're so mad. I mean, yes Valve has supported TF2 a lot. But with the new A.I. director I'm sure they couldn't have just added it as DLC. I just wish they would wait a bit longer and release more content before a whole new game.
But even if they don't, I won't boycott the game. Valve has done a lot for the gaming community, and Left 4 Dead 2 will still be a great game.
I was rather shocked to hear of L4D2's announcement at E3 given that the original has been with us less than a year. That being said, I haven't played the original nor do I intend to so I don't feel as agrieved as others. Still, Valve have a stellar reputation and I'd hate for them to do anything to comprimise that.
Ya definately. Valve is has a very strong fan loyalty reputation. So this is definately out of left field for them.

Wow it's only been 6 months since the original. Welp, since I aint get burned by valve, I may buy it, I aint boycotting a damn thing lol

LOL nice video. I was definately suprised by them announcing L4D 2. Because I feel like L4D 1 just came out not long ago....and it did! I think they could have just as easily added the new weapons and campaigns as DLC to the firstL4D1. I can understand that. But the lighting and bland characters they are really nit picking.
