Good updates. I like the What's New section and the Playstation Store integration.

I also like the dynamic themes a lot. I'm interested in knowing if anyone can get their hands on the software to build dynamic themes.

Indeed this is good. It seems now it will be very easy to keep track of all the info.

I wonder if there ever will be any update that will let us make our own avatars. The Wii sort of started it and now the 360 took that idea to a whole new level. Its a nice feature. I just wonder if Sony will also do anything like it.

But what I really wanna see is them expanding the number of friends we can have. If we could have like a 1000 friends that would be a huge feature.

the update will be available on 9/01/09.

Putting the Playstation store link in the Game and Video section is a bit overkill and dont like them making it sound like it so difficult to access before with it just being in the network section. One feature they should get around to adding is having all the DLC (add-on content, themes, etc) that is related a game available when you put the game on. The XBL has it and its very helpful in finding stuff that is related to the game you playing.

Well people are stupid and I'm sure there was a portion of the userbase that either didn't know where the PS Store was located upon booting up the system, most likely thinking its located in the game section, or there are the folks who had no fucking clue the PS Store had a video section. People are dumb and need things fully explained or shown to them thus you have stuff like this pop up every now and then.

Wow this new update brought some cool new stuff. I like how the XMB is more organized and how it will link you to games homepage and/or their PS Store area. Still not cross game chat but oh well, that'll be next hopefully.

I'm glad they are adding bunch more avatar because that was one thing that kinda annoyed me about PSN. Or I wish they would allow you to add your own. Kinda like mine here at Shogun Laughing

I think they look awesome as well. I'm sure someone will be able to get the program/software/whatever to make the dynamic themes. As you can already make your own, I use a custom made theme on mine. This might be a bit more invovled though.

A. Avatars should be free & we should be able to add our own

2. They need to move the DS battery indicator

III.  Do we really need the "last game played" feature?  Ain't like you can take the game out of the PS3, press the last game played & continue playing.  As far as DLed games, they already show the last game played when you click into the folder.  Two less buttons to push to go from a disc game to a DLed game, thanks Sony.  (who am I kidding, I'll use it)  It would be a nice feature if you could burn games onto the HD like the 360 & then pick whichever game you want to play.  Maybe that's in the works.

d.  Sparkles?  Yea I'll be using the old XLB

5. Glad they gonna seperate the base game trophies from the add on trophies.  I'm tried of have a platinum trophy right next to a big fat 68%

LOL JD. Don't get me started on Avatars. Such fail.

And yeah...the sparkles? No idea what was going on there. I guess glitter makes stuff cooler. It certainly seems to work for the 14 year old girls on MySpace.

ShogunGamer is behind the times...I have taken the liberty of catapulting us into the future with our very own glitter logo.

Lmao. People love shiny things!

Ya the LBP did more to show the dynamic themes then the sparkles.

And I just realized that too JD, who cares if it shows the last game we played if we have to load in the disc anyway. I think when the 360 burning games on your HDD it just shortens load times and the system doesn't have to spin the disc, but you still need to put in the disc. That would be awesome if you didn't need the disc, of course they would need to figure out some anti-piracy feature before/if they do it. 1 person buys a game and puts it on 100 peoples HDD, they won't like that lol.

And I was wondering why I had plat in CoD5 but it said it was only like 74%!!!! lol.

yes burning disc unto the X360's HD reduces load times and you still have to load the disc in but they have now full X360 games like Bioshock, Mass Effect, etc that you can fully download the whole game unto your HD thus not needing a game disc to play.

If you own the game do you have to repurchase it from Live to get the downloaded version and hence not have to put the disc in?

yes because its like buying a new game. If you already have a hard copy then you naturally wouldnt need to buy but to those you havent played the game then you can purchase select titles digitally rather than buy them in store

Ya but they also didn't say a price drop was coming in the future either. I think they are just getting annoyed with all their suprises being leaked waaay early. Slim, PSP Go, price drop, etc. Maybe when they say "future" they mean in the next few weeks.

no i'm pretty it means never. Its makes more sense to start releasing PS2 games on the PSN rather bothering with the BC.

Yup, people should just accept that BC won't happen at this point and move on. Yeah it sucks but is it really hard to occasionally plug in your PS2 every now and then when you get the urge to play an old classic?

If my PS3 ever bites the dust I'll just go in mini me's room & play her PS2.  I pray it never comes to that, playing Max Payne in a room decorated with Dora the Explorer is just plain wrong
