As part of my July 4th vacation yesterday I decided to do a bunch of Shogun related work (yes I’m a workaholic) and eventually spend some leisurely time watching stuff on Netflix. I don’t know what compelled me to do such a thing, but seeing as how Transformers: Dark of The Moon was made available on Netflix Instant I decided to watch the movie. Even a year later and in the comfort of my home I was less than impressed with the last Transformers movie but thankfully a new trailer for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, the new possibly kick-ass game, has been released to erase the Bayformers from my mind.
We may have received a few trailers for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron that were beyond impressive, but this latest one is still cool even despite not being centered around a giant dinobot. Once again showing us the descent into madness and war that Cybetron is going through and giving us a proper look at the behemoth that is Metroplex, the new Fall of Cybertron trailer hits all the right notes and once again makes me bitter over how bad the live-action Transformers films were.
In addition to this new trailer, Activision has announced that Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will now be released a week earlier than originally planned and will be available on August 21st in North America. You won’t get any complaints from me on that news even though I was looking forward to giving myself the game as a birthday present since my bday falls on the 28th.
So far it looks like Fall of Cybertron can’t do any wrong as the game looks good and seems to be more epic than the first game. The glaring omission of co-op play is definitely disappointing, but I think the whole Metroplex, dinobot, stuff going boom, quotient is more than enough to keep Transformers fans and gamers happy.
