A new trailer has been released for Medal of Honor Warfighter (aka Dudebro International Edition) that shows off some explosive multiplayer footage. Since being unveiled earlier this year the new MoH game looks to be building upon its modern warfare based predecessor in some key areas – one of which is upping the experience found in the multiplayer modes.
Now under direct development by the team at Danger Close, the multiplayer aspect of Warfighter looks solid if not a bit familiar to everything else we’ve seen, particularly Battlefield 3. It may not be fair to judge a game on trailer that has slices of multiplayer footage cut in between various pre-release accolades the game has won so far, but it’s always good to be critical than be a blind sheep.
If there’s one thing this new trailer does a good job at its establishing the multiplayer mode of Warfighter will still have the same level of intensity found in its single-player campaign without any major graphical compromises made. Sure, everything may look good running on the Frostbite 2.0 engine, but it is impressive to see Warfighter in a multiplayer setting with an array of particle effects and other such goodies without any major graphical hits.
I haven’t had a chance to get any hands-on time with Warfighter just yet so I can’t attest to whether or not the game has the goods to be the next major FPS we should spend our time on. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 seemingly doing more of the same with a slight sci-fi edge, it’s going to be interesting to see how gamers react to Warfighter and more importantly if there’s a longstanding multiplayer community for the game.
