Bioware today officially announced the first new single-player campaign related DLC for Mass Effect 3 called Leviathan and no I'm not counting the extended cut DLC as being first because that whole deal was ridiculous in my opinion.
Available later this Summer, Leviathan will take Shepard on a quest to find a mysterious being lurking in the deepest region of space that is rumored to be powerful enough to destroy a Reaper on its own. Shepard will also unveil further information on the dark and mysterious past of the Reaper Race before The Reapers lay waste to Earth and the rest of the galaxy.
The Leviathan DLC will feature new uncharted systems to explore, new areas on the Citadel to snoop around in and new characters that you will be able to interact with by yelling into your Kinect. Also two weapons, the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle will be available to use. Both weapons were previously only available as pre-order bonuses.
No exact release date has been revealed and will available to download on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 for $10 or 800 Microsoft points.
Bioware also revealed that a new single player weapon pack DLC called The Firefight Pack will be available for download starting August 7th for only $2 or 160 Microsoft points. The Firefight Pack will feature two new weapons plus five bonus weapons.
Bonus weapons? Am I to assume that these "5 bonus weapons" are not new weapons otherwise wouldn't they just had stated that you were getting 7 new weapons instead of just getting two new weapons with the other five weapons just being regarded as bonus? Huh?
