In the world of exploitation/spoof films there’s none better and more badass than Black Dynamite. For the all the squares or lame cats out there, Black Dynamite was a film that spoofed the Black exploitation films of the 1970s, in such a way that it not only paid homage to said films but created an experience that was one of the funniest comedy films I’ve ever seen.
Black Dynamite wasn’t a massive success at the box office, but it did earn a very loyal cult following which began to spread the gospel of the film. I did my part with my review of the film and in a way the hardcore fan base for BD has paid off. As was previously rumored, a Black Dynamite cartoon is slated to hit the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim sometime next year. Expanding upon the adventures established in the film, Black Dynamite’s animated antics has Michael Jai White, who created and played Black Dynamite, returning to lend his voice talents along with several other cast members from the film.
There’s no set date for when we can expect to see the world of Black Dynamite interpreted through animation, but as a fan of the film I can’t wait for it after looking at these new screens from the series. Black Dynamite was honestly one of the funniest films I’ve seen in a long time and if the animated series captures the same charm and style of humor it should be a huge hit given the wide appeal of Adult Swim.
For those who haven’t seen Black Dynamite, here’s the trailer and I really do suggest everyone check out the movie ASAP.

I love black exploitation films. I hope they keep it as flagrant as possible it would suck to see a really conservative version.
