So far we’ve seen a nice amount of footage from Modern Warfare 2. E3 served as the debut for the single-player mode while last week held the multiplayer debut event which got a lot of people hyped up while raising a few questions about the new gameplay additions. Today we have an extended look at some gameplay from the new Spec Ops mode in Modern Warfare 2.
If you’re not aware the Spec Ops mode is basically like the famous Mile High Club bonus level at the end of Modern Warfare 1. Players can team up with a friend and go through small levels and enclosed areas taking out enemies while they try to get the best clear time and score. Compared to what we’ve seen of Modern Warfare 2 we haven’t really gotten a good glimpse of the Spec Ops mode until now.
At a recent Paris gaming expo a small section of the Spec Ops mode was playable to attendees. The level people were able to check out looked to be an old military locker/shower room that almost looked like it was ripped out from the action classic “The Rock.” The level shows a nice amount of destructibility and the closed quarters nature of the level should make for an intense experience. Hopefully the rest of the Spec Ops levels will mirror this feel and hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see them in action.
