Liu Kang Returns For Mortal Kombat [Video]

After waiting for it to be official and having to go off of mere rumors, Earth realm’s Champion for Mortal Kombat is indeed coming back as Liu Kang has finally been revealed in the new Mortal Kombat game.  There was never a question as to whether Liu wouldn’t be in the game, but it was just an issue of when we would see our favorite bicycle kicking martial artist pop up in the game.

Thankfully Liu is once again in the world of the living as he isn’t a zombie like he was in the MK Armageddon, which to be honest was a bit silly to see.  Liu seems to be back to his good old days of lighting his fists on fire, kicking the crap out of dudes and ultimately ripping their hearts out when the time is right.  All of Liu’s martial arts prowess can be seen in the new character vignette that was released today. Besides being cool to watch, the video also confirms the inclusion of Shang Tsung and Kano along with giving us our first look at the characters in the new MK game.  The design of both characters look good and I can’t wait to see them in action and how developer NetherRealm Games improved their moves set.

So we have three character confirmations today and now it’s just a matter of the rest of the MK roster being revealed.  At this point it’s anyone’s guess as to when we’ll get a reveal let alone a new trailer before the new MK game drops in April.  I think MK fans should be pleased with today’s reveal as all the characters look good and Liu in particular is totally rocking some classic old-school moves that look to be the best representations of them we’ve seen so far.

Seriously cannot wait for mortal kombat on ps3. It's been a while since they had a good game that did this franchise justice
