At this point Sony’s E3 conference might as well be called “PlayStation Move and Friends” as it’s likely to be a dominant factor at Sony’s conference. Some weren’t too impressed with the GDC showing of the PlayStation Move but so far the device has continued to gain traction despite its doubters.
I don’t know if this new footage of Sports Champions will make anyone jump aboard the PS Move bandwagon but it certainly looks nice. Sports Champions was one of the games Sony debuted at GDC in March and this extended footage reveals several new sports we can partake in. Besides table tennis and archery, Sports Champions will also include volleyball and bocce ball. I can hear the high-fives that are happening due to the inclusion of bocce ball.
The footage, which comes from a Spanish publication, isn’t too exciting but it’s still nice to check out. PlayStation Move continues to impress as the motion tech looks rather responsive and fun, volleyball segment aside. At this stage Sports Champions may not seem like that thrilling of a game but it looks like a somewhat thought out product that isn’t merely a tech demo.
That "move party" game at the end looks fun. The people playing either really sucked at ping pong or it's hard to control.
