Last week Rockstar Games announced that the PSP version of GTA: Chinatown Wars would be released on October 20th and today we have our first look at the game with a batch of screenshots.
Depending on what you expected from the game you may be a bit disappointed with the visuals. The game certainly look a bit sharper compared to the Nintendo DS version of the game and the art style seems to have dropped the cell-shaded look found in the DS game in favor for the “realistic” one found in the GTA PSP titles. It seems like this change in art style may’ve been for the worse since a few screens of the game look a bit ugly. I’m not that much of a graphics whore but seeing a flat window texture on a building up close makes me shudder a bit.
Not having played the original version of Chinatown Wars I’m not too sure how well the gameplay will translate to the PSP and if it’ll be what PSP owners would want out of a GTA game. But if diifii liked the DS version then I’m sure I’ll dig the game unless it's a shoddy port.
Excited to play this. Both GTA's on the PSP are awesome.
The DS version worked great for the DS. Its a great game. However...I really dont know if the PSP players will like the graphics of the game. With games like GTA Vice City Stories on the PSP having full 3D graphics, the PSP players may stay away from this great game just becuase of the graphics.
I think the graphics are unique and a nice change of pace. It's like a 3D make over of the old games (which I loved). If it works even close to as good as the DS one I'll be happy..
I didn´t get this for the ds but now that I see this on the psp I want to give it a chance, it could be fun
If anybody will get this please let me know if its more fun than the epic GTA Vice City Stories. I find it hard to believe that there can be a GTA game on a handheld that is better than Vice City Stories.

That's too bad about the cel-shading being bogged down.
GTA: CW really is a high-light of the DS library. This game actually has a similar feel to the original GTA games that appeared back on the PC and PS, gosh, nearly 10 years ago. Those were my favorite of the series, so I definitely had a lot of fun.
The DS had some clever ways of using the touch screen to use some key features, so seeing it work on the PSP is going to be interesting.
