Vancouver Hosts April Duels This Weekend

I play a fair bit of fighting games. I’ve even had delusions of becoming a professional gamer in the realm of Street Fighter. So, as far as eSports are concerned, I get pretty hype about the fight-game tournament scene… Those in the know probably get what I’m working up to here: Vancouver is playing host to its very first major fighting game tournament this weekend April Duels.

Ride to Hell: Retribution Seeks To Deliver True MC Justice This Summer

The video game adaptation of the TV series Sons of Anarchy may sadly be a lost cause, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t be able to partake in some violent MC action.  Now I’m not talking about GTA IV: Lost and Damned as I’m instead talking about Ride to Hell: Retribution from Deep Silver and Eutechnyx.

Boba Fett Was To Be Lead In Star Wars 1313

Star Wars fans may be none too pleased today, not just because of the closure of LucasArts and the subsequent cancellation of unreleased games, but because Star Wars 1313 was set to be a Boba Fett game.

Despite the Fett family having a shaky video game history thanks to the kind of fun/kind of dreadful Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, LucasArts was ready to give the video game treatment to Boba Fett in a massive action game.

First Wave Of Lego Marvel Super Heroes Screens Finally Arrive

The world of Marvel is now going to become a little bit wacky and blocky thanks to Lego Marvel Super Heroes.  Now joining Lego Batman/the DC universe, Marvel fans will have the opportunity to play what will likely be the sole Marvel universe game to arrive on HD consoles considering that Disney Interactive has yet to get their house in order.

An Era Is Over: LucasArts Is Officially Closed

Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm and the Star Wars empire has now claimed its second victim: that of LucasArts. After shuttering production on the popular Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon, Disney has announced that they will be closing as an internal development studio LucasArts effective immediately.

Not So Good Doom 4 Details Surface [Rumor]

It’s once again time for another series of torrid developments woes/stories, this time coming out of the once invulnerable studio that is id Software. Helping to launch what is now considered the most popular genre in gaming today, id hasn’t exactly stayed on top of the world – not just because John Romero and his beautiful set of hair left the company, but because things are amiss in the world of Doom.

Thief Debut Trailer Finally Comes Out Of The Shadows

A bunch of malarkey may have transpired today considering it’s the fools parade that is April Fool’s Day, yet Square Enix has decided to get a bit serious. No, badass undercover cop extraordinaire Wei Shen hasn’t returned in a Sleeping Dogs follow-up as we instead have our first “look” at the new Thief title.

Dudebro II Returns Again With A New Weapon

The ever enigmatic and badass soldier supreme that is John Dudebro has returned once again.  After surfacing way back in 2009, the community driven shoot-em-up title that is Dudebro II has long been gestating in various forms.

Since making the leap to become a 2D sprite based action title, work on Dudebro II has seemingly been progressing nice and now the folks over at Grimoire Assembly Forge have decided to unveil a new weapon today.

Killer Is Dead Trailer Features More Action and Giant Aliens

Today may be filled with news that can be considered a joke, not just because it’s poorly written, but because it’s April Fool's Day.  While some people may be partaking in the shenanigans, the folks over at Grasshopper Manufacture aren’t since they’ve released a brand new trailer for Killer is Dead.

Devoid of anything that is overly jokey, except for the fact that the Earth has purportedly been stolen and aliens are roaming around, it’s business as usual in this new Killer Is Dead trailer.

Darksiders Property Likely To Be Acquired By Crytek

THQ may be nothing more than missed potential and shattered dreams at this point, but there is still hope for the Darksiders franchise.  Even though Darksiders developer Vigil Games was dissolved due to not being acquired in the first wave of IP/asset sales held in January, none other than Crytek could come to the rescue once again to keep the post-apocalyptic demon/angel franchise alive.
